Pet Post

A friend sent this to me on one of my groups and I love it and just had to share it.

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.
Dear Dogs and Cats,The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible.I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- canine or feline attendance is not required.
The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!
To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:
To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's>why they call it "fur"-niture. ) 3. I like my pet s a lot better than I like most people. 4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly. Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because they: 1. Eat less 2. Don't ask for money all the time 3. Are easier to train 4. Normally come when called 5. Never ask to drive the car 6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends 7. Don't smoke or drink 8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions 9. Don't want to wear your clothes 10. Don't need a "gazillion" dollars for college. And finally 11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children

Manic Monday

I had some good progress today. Two more hair color clients and one more cut and have three wanting to come back or come in for services. I am so thrilled.

5 haircut clients
5 2 hair color clients
5 perms/ relaxers clients

I am proud of how I am progressing. I still don't have all the clients I need to be done with this part of my program but I at least have something complete. I am proud to be able to say 1/3 down 2/3 to go.

Needless to say my Monday was insane getting two hair color clients and one haircut in but it was acheived and I am so proud to be able to say that.

On another note Quin had his nativity story show today. It was adorable but to be honest Cas' was much better. The first graders always do the show and the CCD children get to do it in the church and it is a beautiful ceremony. Quin since he is a student got it in the school hall and it seemed shorter but yet more dragged out was wonderful marvelous and I had a total blast watching it. I have never been more thrilled to get to school. For some reason the plays and concerts this year are just not what they used to be.

Simply Sunday

So today we have a bunch to do. First the dogs need their shots and the laundry needs to be put away. Then we need to clean since Christmas is right around the corner and we are having company. I also need to organize the kids toys before Christmas otherwise where will they put all their new toys. Of course it cant just be thrown in toy bins it needs to be organized and even my kids know this. So my Sunday will be spent cleaning a bunch and braving the cold cold air outside to get my puppy's their shots. The weather is horrible though so we shall see if the vet is even going to be available for shots today. So what are your plans for this wonderful Sunday? One of the last Sunday's of 2008. The last one before Christmas!

My husband rocks Friday

This week I will say my husband rocks because he came in to my school and let me cut his hair for credit. I promised him a fade and I asked him what he wanted and despite his specific instructions not to cut the top. I did I not only cut it but shaved it down to nothing. You would think he learned or maybe even I learned from our mistake. I say our as I told him how short I was going and he said OK despite knowing that was to short. Now I too should have known it was to short but I did not and now he has a wonderful marvelous crew cut. Instead of learning don't go that short next time we learned that we I and everyone else he came into contact with like his new short hair. With that being said we he also learned having a crew cut during the winter can be very cold.

So my husband rocks because he entrusted his head in my hands for school. He also drove me to and from school and blissfully sat endured mine and my friend chatter in the early morning and afternoon. He didn't give faces or complain or anything else he just sat and was even friendly

Thursday Thirteen

OK thirteen things I am thinking about this week. Things I have learned things I have been reminded to remember and now learn from yet again and things that I just loved about this week. Hey it is hard to come up with thirteen things when your life is constantly on the go and always the same day in and day out.

1. Going into school late for a 10 minute recorder concert is worth every second. Even if your child doesn't even seem to care that you showed up, later when they complain someone may not show up for their sibling but showed up for them you know their gratitude.

2. Steve's new g.m. is miserable and mean and selfish and we shall just leave it at that so I don't sound like the Scrooge he is. Maybe we should invite him for Christmas so he can learn what family and Christmas spirit is all about.

3. Fake hair whether individually bonded, glue or sewn in hurts.

4. Beauty equals pain.

5. Simple is the best sometimes.

6. Christmas can make a parent insane.

7. Going to Toys R' Us even if just to return something is truly insane since the rest of the world seems to still be shopping despite having almost a whole year to do so since last Christmas.

8. Toys R' Us is well stocked the weekend before Christmas.

9. Maybe those last minute shoppers are the smart one's since they are getting everything on their list.

10. Winter boots are extremely expensive and extremely hard to find when it is already winter.

11. Not having a ice/ snow shovel thing (guess I should figure out the word I am looking for for that.) stinks.

12. An old windshield wiper and an even older jacket can work wonders to remove soft snow from the car.

13. It does not work so well on ice/ harder snow.

So their is my thirteen not exactly the best things in the world but it is my thirteen for the week. There it is. So what is your thirteen?

Salon 360

So far so good in the matter of the week I have had 3 haircut's 1 hair color and two male manicures. I am well on my way to reaching the goal. Other then having the perms and relaxers. I have 4 more people coming in for services this week and I can't wait to do all that needs to be done. Only 2 more cuts and 4 more colors. Then I must work on my perm and relaxer skills.

My Husband Rocks Friday

So this week KatyLin had this wonderful idea to share a wonderful Christmas memory. The truth is I cant remember not one special thing about Christmas. Well let me rephrase I cant remember one things done on only one specific Christmas. So I guess this week my husband rocks for helping sticking with the traditions of Christmas. He is always home and helping me to entertain the family Christmas day. He also helps keep me relaxed sane during the holidays as he helps out tons.

Thirteen Thursday

My thirteen this week is.... ways to get customer's in to get hair service....

1. Tell them it is free
2. Tell them half price (although free works better)
3. Tell them anything they want to hear
4. Beg (although it does not work at all)
5. Accommodate (but never do it completely for free and their convenience you lose out trust me)
6. Have lots of family
7. Bribe them (although free seems good enough to me)
8. Post on facebook
9. Post on myspace
10. Post on your blog
11. Beg some more
12. Recruit friends who wont come for you to do their hair to recruit their friends who just might show.
13. Sit and wait around for everyone who claims they will come to come

So do you have any more sale ideas because as you can see I kind of stink at it

One courageous soul

So what if it was my daughter. At least someone trusted their head in my hands. I did such a good job if I do say so myself. I need to make some business cards now. I am getting in the swing of things. Tomorrow no lunch I am going to try to get some clients instead.

I need models

I want to cry nobody will trust their head in my hands. Even for free ugh I just don't know what to do short of begging people.

Blah

That is exactly how I am feeling today. I guess this weekend took it's toll on my body.

I was just discussing getting older and yes I am still a baby but my body is slowly showing me signs of my aging process. No gray hairs yet but I am looking deep and the wrinkles are looking to rear their ugly head. For some reason my skin is getting worse as the days go by despite me now taking better care of myself.

Also I am sick. A simple cold that is making me feel like crap. I don't like being sick and I don't want to miss school to be sick. I went to the doctor and she gave me a list of things I have to do to get better. So as soon as we drop the kids off at my Mom's we are off to the 24 hour drugstore to get what I need to get better. One of the many perks of living in New York City.

OK off for now just wanted to update and since I have yet to find a wonderful meme for Sunday's random chat it is for me.

Box of Love

One of my friends shared this on one of the groups I am on and I just fell in love with the idea. I think I am going to make my kids make them especially for my Grandparents. Great Grandparent's love stuff like this. Sorry I don't know where she got it from to give them credit as well.

Box of Love

To make this gift you'll need:
Small plain boxes- Jewelry boxes work very well.
Glitter, sequins or any ornamentation.
Ribbon
Printed poem ( below) on card stock paper if possible.

This is a very special gift That you can never see.
The reason it's so special,Is it's just for you from me.
Whenever you are happy,Or even feeling blue.
You only have to hold this gift And know I think of you.
You never can unwrap it,Please leave the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close To your heart,It's filled with love inside.

Have your child decorate the boxes in anyway she/he pleases.
Add a ribbon and the poem, with the signature.

Tips: Try your local jewelry store for boxes

So proud

Just had to share I just had two very very successful haircuts and have one more scheduled for tomorrow. It is still in the practice phase but every cut counts. I am also lining up "clientele" for my upcoming Salon 360 experience where I need to get 15 clients. 5 Haircuts, 5 hair color and 5 chemical procedures and I think I am well on my way.

A bit more interesting then yesterday!

First off I must share this wonderful video/song that I love more and more every time I hear it and decided it is beyond blog worthy.

The Mom Song from Northland Video on Vimeo.

Secondly I would like to thank my now second blog follower. It just goes to show I am a bit more interesting then I was yesterday. I also found that out at school today as I applied my new makeup from the MAC Pro store (mac makeup not the computer), we went to MAC Pro on a class field trip yesterday and it was a blast and guess where I was?? OK OK don't want the suspense to kill anyone I was in the middle of New York City. OK I wont lie I don't know if it was exactly the middle but it was definitely NYC. I just am a local who does not know my way around the city at all.
